Four Stones Ltd. - Fuel Cells and Off-grid Power

Canada has a huge amount of territory that has no local power yet we need to use various technologies "out there." The "off-grid" power requirements have typically been supplied by such technologies as large battery banks, gasoline/diesel/propane fueled generators, solar panels and small hydro or wind turbines.

From a background in providing surveilance solutions to the oil and gas industry, Four Stones Ltd. president Dana Brown has found a solution that either eliminates or enhances these other off-grid solutions - the methanol-powered EFOY fuel cell.

Off-grid solutions fall into two broad categories: low average power and high average power. The high ones are those that involve large amounts of equipment, lights, heat and probably on-site living conditions. The low powered systems are typically small, self-contained systems that simply operate as and when necessary. It is these latter systems that this particular fuel cell use is aimed at.
